Yala National Park is a major natural protected area in Sri Lanka,rich in biodiversiry.It is located in the southeastern region and covers a large land area.In this area ,forests,lakes and coastal zones coexist,making it unique.


 Among the animals living in Yala National Park,the leopard (panthera pardus kotiya) is especially well-known.Yala National park is considered one of the areas in the world  with the highest leopaed density.

Elephants,deer,birds and monkeys an be seen here in large numbers.This national park also contributes economically to the tourism industry.



Through safari tours,tourists get the opportunity to observe the naturl behaviors of animals.

Howerver, excessive tourist pressure can have harmful effects on the environment.Therefore,Yala National Park is considered a key symbol of environmental conservation in sri lanka.
